I started working at Opal Core Marketing because I wanted an opportunity in which I could grow and acquire new skills that would help me professionally. I felt stuck in the 9 to 5, not really going anywhere, even though I was putting in a lot of work. I stayed because this was more than a job. It is an opportunity to not only grow but help others as well. There’s a great culture, to the point that it is everyone’s responsibility to grow together; we hold each other accountable and hold each other to a higher standard. I’m able to provide my family with stability while learning and becoming a better version of myself, personally and professionally.
I grew up on the West Coast—California, specifically LA, Orange County, and the Inland Empire. After a difficult upbringing, I chose to join the Marines, determined to be the change I needed in my life. Although I didn’t complete my contract due to a neck injury, I kept pushing forward. Once I got out it took me five months of applying to over 200 jobs—from aviation mechanic roles to janitorial work …. I got a call that changed everything. At 26, with negative $2.34 to my name, I moved back home and started from zero. But this business gave me a platform to grow—it’s helped me communicate better, not just with myself, but with my family, breaking a cycle of negativity. The military taught me discipline, but this business taught me empathy and people skills. Now, I’m driven to lead—my goal is to run my own market, so really just get into ownership. Then it would be to become a regional consultant, and ultimately a national consultant—always striving to be 1% better every single day.
